Shocked and Dismayed! Sears, Mom, Apple Pie and Chevrolet …
Ok, it is being addressed, but there are reports that Sears Holding Corporation (SHC), the parent company of Sears & K-Mart stores has hit a bump in the road. The My SHC Community application is tracking various and in-depth online habits of it’s members, to include details of purchases, eMail headers from web based mail and various other content. What this also means is that SHC can, is, or will capture credit card numbers and information, SSN - Social Security Numbers, and Personal Data. SHC claims that this private information is scrubbed prior to uploading to their servers. Hmmm!
A major point in this issue is whether or not the users of the My SHC Community have been clearly and consistently informed as to what the application actually does, prior to the installation.
